Spectra Secondary School (“SSS”) respects your privacy and is committed to taking measures to protect your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) informs you on how SSS will collect, use, disclose and look after your personal data when you visit our iShop website. SSS handles all personal data in compliance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 ("PDPA") and the government’s IM8 policy. By accessing and using this website, you shall be deemed to have accepted this Policy. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not access or use this website.

You agree and consent to the prevailing terms of this Policy as updated from time to time. We reserve the right to supplement, amend or otherwise modify our Policy at our discretion and encourage you to check the latest version of this Policy regularly. All updates to this Policy will be published on our website, iShop.spectra.edu.sg.  Your use of this website after such changes have been published will constitute your agreement and consent to the modified Policy and all of the changes.

The use of this website and its Contents (as defined in the Terms of Use), and any transactions of service or sale under this website, is only open to lawful residents of Singapore. If you choose to access this website when you are not a lawful resident of Singapore, you agree that we will not be able to protect your personal data under any laws of your jurisdiction or other jurisdictions that may apply.

Personal Data 

For the purposes of this Policy, personal data shall have the same meaning as stipulated in the PDPA (“Personal Data”). To the fullest extent permitted at law, it does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymized data) or data that may be derived from your Personal Data but does not directly or indirectly reveal your identity (aggregated data).

SSS does not collect, use, disclose or process Personal Data except when voluntarily provided by you or otherwise agreed to by you. SSS does not retain personal data longer than is necessary for the purposes for which they are collected except when necessary to comply with SSS’s legal obligations.  Where we need to collect your Personal Data under law, or for the purposes of providing services or sales to you, and you fail to provide your Personal Data, we may not be able to provide the services or sales that you request.

Examples of Personal Data that may be collected by SSS include your name, company name, contact number, email address, username, password, residential address, payment information and other personal data that SSS may require in order to provide our services or sales to you.  It may be important that your Personal Data we collect, use or disclose in accordance with this Policy is accurate. Please keep us informed if your Personal Data changes during your relationship with us.

Collection of Personal Data 

Personal Data collected by SSS will only be used or disclosed for the purpose(s) for which it is collected unless otherwise required or authorized under the PDPA or other applicable law.

This includes, but is not limited to the following: 

  • When you submit Personal Data for the purpose of applying for our services or acquiring goods or making a purchase and payment thereof;
  • When you submit a comment, question or feedback to us using a “Contact Us” or similar feature on the website, send us an email or in any other way digitally or otherwise;
  • When you create an account with us;
  • When you subscribe to our newsletters, services or sales;
  • When you request marketing material from us;
  • Via Facebook Pixel Tags;
  • Via Photographs taken in-stores, during events/workshops in partnership or associated with SSS; and/or
  • Via Cookies.

We may also collect your Personal Data in an automated manner as you access or interact with our website. This includes without limitation data about your device, equipment, browsing actions and patterns, which we collect by use of server logs, cookies or other technologies.  You can disable cookies depending on your browser capabilities, however, if you disable cookies please understand that all or some parts of this website may not be accessible to you.

Use of Personal Data

Depending on the services or sales you require from us, your Personal Data will be used only for the relevant purposes as deemed reasonable by SSS, which may include the following: 

  • Facebook Pixel Tags;
  • To perform any transactions with you including steps taken to lead up to a contract, or after the contract has been entered into;
  • To process and execute delivery of the services or sales to you, whether physical or online delivery
  • To facilitate payment of purchase orders;
  • To communicate with you, including any marketing or ongoing or seasonal promotions;
  • To manage the safety and security of SSS premises and services;

  • To facilitate your access to our website;
  • To protect the legal interests of SSS or other third parties;

  • For SSS promotional or marketing materials.

Please note that our processing of your Personal Data can take place without your knowledge or consent if deemed necessary or desirable by SSS to comply with laws or regulations.

Disclosure of Personal Data

We may need to disclose, share or transfer your Personal Data to the following third parties for the purposes set out in this Policy:

Save as aforesaid, SSS will not disclose, share or transfer Personal Data to any third party without your consent, except when required to do so for legal or regulatory purposes. However, for the avoidance of doubt, you understand that to carry out business operations and to provide our services and sales to you, SSS may engage third party service providers to assist us.

Security & Confidentiality of Personal Data

SSS will undertake reasonable security arrangements to protect your Personal Data in our possession. Access to your personal data is restricted to those of our officers, employees and students on a need to know basis and who will only process your Personal Data on our instructions including instructions to keep your Personal Data confidential.  To ensure the security and confidentiality of your Personal Data that SSS collects, we use appropriate security technologies on all electronic storage and transmission of Personal Data. 

All Personal Data that you provide us, is kept confidential to the best of SSS’s ability. You, however acknowledge and accept that notwithstanding such intentions, to the fullest extent permitted at law, there can be no guarantee by SSS of the security of any transmission of Personal Data, or that any data leak will not occur.

Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed and construed in accordance with laws of the Republic of Singapore, and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with this Policy.
